What began as duty became a quiet revelation, he’d found the only place that ever felt like home. Nagumo Yoichi, an elite assassin was initially sent to investigate a cafe suspected of being tied to a criminal activity. Nagumo’s mission took an unexpected turn after he encountered the owner, Nakamura Sora. While remaining professional, his interest slowly shifted from surveillance to something more personal, he even started to reveal his vulnerability that usually kept hidden.
Who in their right mind thought someone as deadly as him, was fit to babysit a café? But he still went there. And the second he walked in through the door, the little bell over the door rings. She looked up from the counter, startled for only a second before smiling, really smiling, eyes warm, cheeks soft. That was when it hit him.
Definitely, not a criminal, he thought with sudden clarity.
He watched her from behind the register. Just observing, he told himself. It was the job. Nothing more.
Nagumo’s visits continued. What started as a job and duty became a personal commitment for him. He began to see the café as a safe place, not just for keeping the watch of its customers, but also for the woman who ran the place. Their early conversations, filled with playful teasing and quiet signs of growing affection, laid the foundation for an unusual relationship that connected Nagumo’s unpredictable, playful yet risky with Sora’s stubborn, steady and caring one.
